Reaching Perfect Balance, a band made up of MATT RANALLO on the guitar, keyboard and lead vocals, LARRY BERENGUEL on the guitar, percussion, and vocals, JUSTIN PETERS on the cello, bass guitar and vocals, and last but not least our newest member GARRET BROWN on the drums and percussion. We play some laid back music about love, drugs, and life. Relating to people is what we do with our music. Just the love of playing music to friends, family, and new friends to come is why we play. "Inspiration comes from many places, one is the Heart!"
Matt Ranallo and Justin Peters started playing music together in June of 2006. They played Open Mic Night at Orlondos in Des Moines, IA. The host of the open mic night was Larry Berenguel. “What was cool about Larry running the open mic night was that he used to get up and jam with us on a few songs.” Matt and Justin played Matt’s original songs and a bunch of covers by artists like Dave Mathews, Howie Day, and Sublime. Matt, known as Matty in the band, has been writing music since his early years of high school. He wrote songs like Carrie Me and Great Day in his high school career.
Matt and Justin played many shows in the summer of 2006 at different Bars and Restaurants around the Des Moines area like Peoples Bar and Grill, House of Bricks, and Champs Restaurant and Bar. In the fall of 2006 Larry started to play shows with Matt and Justin. And R.P.B. was born. They wrote their first song together called Comin Home, which is now the cover song of their first cd. The first cd by R.P.B. was a collaboration of 6 of Matt's originals, 6 of Larry's originals, and Comin Home written by Matty and Jp with help from Larry on the arrangement of the song. Ever since R.P.B. came together new hit songs have taken center stage such as Wake Me Up and Margarita.
In January of 2007 Garret Brown joined the group giving R.P.B. its heart beat on the drums. Since then R.P.B. just keeps getting bigger and bigger with new hits and new fans.
